Aug 8, 2009 1:01 PM - My 83 year old mother was admitted to the hospital because of an actively bleeding gastric ulcer. She received two units of blood to replace her blood lose in the emergency room within 3-4 hours of admission. Under the present health care proposal would she have received the blood as an emergency treatment or would she been forced to wait for a cost effectiveness determination? - Answer it!
