bills and resolutions first go to committees that deliberate, investigate, and revise
them before they go to general debate. The majority of bills and resolutions never make it out of committee.

Oct 14, 2009 5:05 PM - I am confused about the 12/10 date. When they say it 'sunsets' at the end of next year, does this mean an adoption finalized in 2010 will benefit or is the date only to signify that you have to file by that for qualifying 2009 adoptions only? thanks. -
Answer it!Jan 17, 2010 4:22 AM - Can the adoption tax credit be applied even if the adoption does not go through? -

You can use the tax credit for the tax year that your adoption is finalized OR for the tax year AFTER the expense was incurred. So if you paid fees in 2009 you can claim them, but if this legislation expires at the end of this year and you do not finalize you will not be able to claim it. http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc607.html |
