This bill is in the first step in the legislative process. Introduced
bills and resolutions first go to committees that deliberate, investigate, and revise
them before they go to general debate. The majority of bills and resolutions never make it out of committee.

May 19, 2009 11:53 PM - Amazing, so if a "John Smith" is on the no fly list, then all John Smith's in the country will be prohibited from purchasing a gun? SSN are not used on the no fly list. There's already issues with innocent passengers being denied boarding because of this issue. Am I reading this right? -

That would be technically correct. Since information about the list is spotty and shadowing to begin with, there will undoubtedly be issues with mistaken identity. But, they will say that it isn't 'the' John Smith (you) just that 'a' John Smith on the list, but they still would be denied. Answered by a visitor on May 21, 2009 1:03 PM -
It is a possibility, yes. No one really seems to know exactly how the list works in the first place. Jun 30, 2009 4:17 PM - How does this bill not violate the Second and Sixth Amendments? -

It does violate them. The Federal government is in panic mode. They know the economy is going to get worse...and they're afraid of us, as they should be. |
