Mr. FISH introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Armed Services
A BILL
Authorizing the President to award posthumously the Medal of Honor or other appropriate military decoration to John Peter Manzi, killed in action on September 7, 1967, in the Republic of Vietnam.
- Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, notwithstanding sections 6248 and 6250 of title 10, United States Code, the President is authorized and requested (1) to award posthumously the Medal of Honor or such other military decoration as the President determines to be appropriate to John Peter Manzi for gallantry in action on September 7, 1967, in the Republic of Vietnam at the cost of his life while serving as a first lieutenant in the Marine Corps, and (2) to present such medal or other decoration to his family.
