To provide the same immigration adjustment rights for Haitians as is provided for Cubans.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the `Haitian Immigrant Equitable Adjustment Act of 2002'.
SEC. 2. APPLICATION OF CUBAN ADJUSTMENT ACT TO HAITIANS.
Effective as of the date of the enactment of this Act, the first section of Public Law 89-732 (8 U.S.C. 1255 note) is amended by inserting `or Haiti' after `Cuba'.
