The March Field Air Museum has started work in Riverside, California on a memorial honoring recipients of the Air Force's Distinguished Flying Cross. The Distinguished Flying Cross is an award given to individuals who have demonstrated "heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in an aerial flight." Currently, the United States does not have a memorial to honor members of the Air Force that have distinguished themselves with bravery in flight. The bill would designate this memorial as the Distinguished Flying Cross National Memorial.
H.R. 2788 would designate a memorial to members of the Armed Forces who have distinguished themselves in flight. The memorial, which would be located at the March Field Air Museum in Riverside, California, would not be a unit of the National Park System and would not be constructed with federal funds.
CBO estimates H.R. 2788 would have no effect on discretionary spending because the proposed memorial would not be constructed with federal funds.
The House Democratic Caucus does not provide summaries of bills.
So, yes, we display the House Republican Conference’s summaries when available even if we do not have a Democratic summary available. That’s because we feel it is better to give you as much information as possible, even if we cannot provide every viewpoint.
We’ll be looking for a source of summaries from the other side in the meanwhile.
