Sergeant Jeremy E. Murray of Atwater, Ohio, was killed on November 16, 2005 near Haditha, Iraq, when the Humvee in which he was travelling was struck by a roadside bomb. A 1996 graduate of Waterloo High School, Murray initially enlisted in the Army before joining the Marine Corps, where he was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Pendleton, CA. He was 27 years old.
This legislation would designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 4865 Tallmadge Road in Rootstown, Ohio, as the "Marine Sgt. Jeremy E. Murray Post Office."
According to CBO, any costs related to new post office designations, which include the cost of changing the name on the building, signs, and maps, are not significant.
