Summary

Legislative Counsel's Digest: Under existing law, any unexpected occurrence involving facility-acquired infection, death or serious physical or psychological injury, known as a sentinel event, is required to be reported to the Health Division of the Department of Health and Human Services. (NRS 439.830, 439.835) This bill revises the definition of sentinel event to incorporate the most current list of serious reportable events in health care published by the National Quality Forum.
