IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Mr. KOPETSKI introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Armed Services


A BILL

To require a study and report on environmental restoration at the Nevada Test Site, Nevada.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. STUDY AND REPORT ON ENVIRONMENTAL RESTORATION AT NEVADA TEST SITE.

    (a) STUDY- (1) The Secretary of Energy shall conduct a study to determine the total cost of environmental restoration activities needed to be conducted at the Nevada Test Site, Nevada, as a result of nuclear weapons testing at the Site.

    (2) The Secretary of Energy shall conduct the study in cooperation with any other Federal agencies the Secretary considers appropriate. The Secretary of Energy shall invite representatives of the Government of Great Britain to participate in the conduct of the study.

    (b) REPORT- Not later than May 1, 1995, the Secretary of Energy shall submit to the Congress a report on the results of the study.
