Mr. KRUEGER introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs
A BILL
To provide for the establishment of a new medical facility for veterans in south Texas.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. NEW DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS MEDICAL FACILITY IN SOUTH TEXAS.
- (a) PROJECT AUTHORIZATION- The Secretary of Veterans Affairs may--
- (1) acquire a site in south Texas suitable for a medical facility; and
- (2) construct a medical facility on such site.
- (b) FUNDING- There are authorized to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary for the purposes of subsection (a), but the amount authorized for appropriation under such subsection for the construction of the medical facility referred to in such subsection may not exceed the product of (1) the number of beds to be included in the facility, and (2) $290,000.
- (c) DEFINITION- For purposes of this section, the term ‘medical facility’ has the meaning given the term in section 8101(3) of title 38, United States Code.
