A BILL

To authorize an appropriation for the construction of a public museum located in, and relating to the history of, the State of New Mexico.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. GRANT FOR MUSEUM.

    (a) AUTHORITY TO MAKE GRANT- With funds appropriated to carry out this subsection and subject to the requirement specified in subsection (b), the Secretary of the Interior shall make a grant to the State of New Mexico for the construction of a public museum in the city of Santa Fe to house and display art and artifacts relating to the history of the State of New Mexico.

    (b) MATCHING FUNDS REQUIRED- To be eligible to receive a grant under subsection (a), the State of New Mexico shall submit to the Secretary of the Interior an application that includes an agreement by such State to expend not less than $11,000,000 of non-Federal funds for the construction of the museum described in subsection (a).

SEC. 2. AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS.

    There is authorized to be appropriated $9,000,000 to carry out section 1(a).
