Mr. WATKINS of Oklahoma introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure


A BILL

To direct the Secretary of the Army to convey a parcel of land located in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, to the Choctaw Nation.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. LAND CONVEYANCE.

    (a) IN GENERAL- The Secretary of the Army, acting through the Chief of Engineers, shall convey by quitclaim deed without consideration to the Choctaw Nation all right, title, and interest of the United States in and to the parcel of land, including improvements thereto, described in subsection (b). The parcel consists of approximately 265 acres in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, with access to Lake Eufaula and is commonly known as Hickory Point.

    (b) LAND DESCRIPTION-

      (1) IN GENERAL- The parcel of land to be conveyed under subsection (a) is section 2, T5N, R16E in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma.

      (2) SURVEY- The exact acreage and legal description of the parcel shall be determined by a survey satisfactory to the Secretary, with the cost of the survey to be borne by the Choctaw Nation. The Secretary and the Choctaw Nation shall jointly select the surveyor.

    (c) PERPETUAL STATUS-

      (1) IN GENERAL- All land conveyed under this section shall be managed in perpetuity for public purposes.

      (2) REVERSION- If the land is not managed for public purposes, title to the land shall revert to the United States, at the option of the United States.
