H.R. 5443 extends the requirements to e-file to all tax-exempt organizations required to file statements of returns in the Form 990 series or the Form 872. The bill also requires the Internal Revenue Service to make the information provided on the forms available to the public in a machine-readable format and allows one to extract and perform computations on the data but not alter or manipulate the statements or returns.
