3.9 million public elementary school students have no access to visual arts classes, while 1.3 million have no access to music classes, according to the U.S. Department of Education.
What the bill does
The Guarantee Access to Arts and Music Education (GAAME) Act [H.R. 6137 + S. 3391] would give more American students access to music and arts education.
It would do so by incentivizing such federal money be spent through 2015’s Every Student Succeeds Act, which for the past three years has been the primary legislation governing American education policy.
