                                                                          and Abuse Act.

2 1 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 2 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Defending the Integ- 3 rity of Voting Systems Act’’. 4 SEC. 2. PROHIBITION ON INTERFERENCE WITH VOTING 5 SYSTEMS. 6 Section 1030(e) of title 18, United States Code, is 7 amended— 8 (1) in paragraph (2)— 9 (A) in subparagraph (A), by striking ‘‘or’’ 10 at the end; 11 (B) in subparagraph (B), by adding ‘‘or’’ 12 at the end; and 13 (C) by adding at the end the following: 14 ‘‘(C) that— 15 ‘‘(i) is part of a voting system; and 16 ‘‘(ii)(I) is used for the management, 17 support, or administration of a Federal 18 election; or 19 ‘‘(II) has moved in or otherwise af- 20 fects interstate or foreign commerce;’’; 21 (2) in paragraph (11), by striking ‘‘and’’ at the 22 end; 23 (3) in paragraph (12), by striking the period 24 and inserting a semicolon; and pamtmann on DSKBFK8HB2PROD with BILLS 25 (4) by adding at the end the following: S 1321 RFH VerDate Sep 11 2014 20:29 Jul 19, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\S1321.RFH S1321
3 1 ‘‘(13) the term ‘Federal election’ means any 2 election (as defined in section 301(1) of the Federal 3 Election Campaign Act of 1971 (52 U.S.C. 4 30101(1))) for Federal office (as defined in section 5 301(3) of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 6 1971 (52 U.S.C. 30101(3))); and 7 ‘‘(14) the term ‘voting system’ has the meaning 8 given the term in section 301(b) of the Help Amer- 9 ica Vote Act of 2002 (52 U.S.C. 21081(b)).’’.
