Nobody in any state, or of any political party, thinks dead people should actually be able to “vote.” However, states and counties across the country have varying rules regarding removal of deceased voters’ names from the list of registered voters. Some check much more regularly — such as West Virginia, where a state law requires purging of deceased voters’ names from the rolls monthly. Others check much less frequently.
