Mrs. Miller of Illinois (for herself and Mrs. Greene of Georgia) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Homeland Security
RESOLUTION
Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that it is the role of the Federal Government to defend the territorial integrity and inviolability of the United States border with Mexico.
Whereas article IV, section 4 of the Constitution states that, the United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government and shall protect each of them against Invasion

Whereas our Founders’ intent was to guarantee that each State of the Union was protected against invasion by foreign nations and revolutionary forces, including drug cartels and uncontrolled, unlawful immigration; and
Whereas, if the United States cannot control its borders, it cannot defend its own national sovereignty: Now, therefore, be it
That it is the sense of the House of Representatives that it is the role of the Federal Government to defend the territorial integrity and inviolability of the United States border with Mexico.
