The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is the nonpartisan government agency tasked with maintaining and cataloging U.S. historical records. Starting in September, their online catalog entries began showing a “Harmful Language Alert” banner message at the top for all records in the catalog, including for the records and scanned images of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.
