A BILL

To maintain the National Coal Council in the Department of Energy to provide advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Energy on matters relating to coal and the coal industry, and for other purposes.

1.

Short title

This Act may be cited as the Coal Council Certainty Act of 2021.

National Coal Council

(a)

In general

The Secretary of Energy shall maintain the National Coal Council, in accordance with the charter for the National Coal Council (as filed with Congress on November 19, 2021).

(b)

Applicability of the Federal Advisory Committee Act

(1)

In general

Subject to paragraph (2), the Federal Advisory Committee Act (5 U.S.C. App.) shall apply to the National Coal Council.

(2)

Termination

Section 14 of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (5 U.S.C. App.) shall not apply to the National Coal Council.
