USE OF THE CAPITOL GROUNDS FOR NA- 2 TIONAL PEACE OFFICERS MEMORIAL SERV- 3 ICE. 4 (a) IN GENERAL.—The Grand Lodge of the Fra- 5 ternal Order of Police and its auxiliary shall be permitted 6 to sponsor a public event, the 42d Annual National Peace 7 Officers Memorial Service (in this resolution referred to 8 as the ‘‘Memorial Service’’), on the Capitol Grounds, in 9 order to honor the law enforcement officers who died in 10 the line of duty during 2022. 11 (b) DATE OF MEMORIAL SERVICE.—The Memorial 12 Service shall be held on May 15, 2023, or on such other 13 date as the Speaker of the House of Representatives and 14 the Committee on Rules and Administration of the Senate 15 jointly designate, with preparation for the event to begin 16 on May 10, 2023, and takedown completed on May 16, 17 2023. 18 SEC. 2. USE OF THE CAPITOL GROUNDS FOR NATIONAL 19 HONOR GUARD AND PIPE BAND EXHIBITION. 20 (a) IN GENERAL.—The Grand Lodge of the Fra- 21 ternal Order of Police and its auxiliary shall be permitted 22 to sponsor a public event, the National Honor Guard and 23 Pipe Band Exhibition (in this resolution referred to as the 24 ‘‘Exhibition’’), on the Capitol Grounds, in order to allow kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS 25 law enforcement representatives to exhibit their ability to •HCON 15 RH VerDate Sep 11 2014 22:35 Mar 17, 2023 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\HC15.RH HC15
3 1 demonstrate Honor Guard programs and provide for a 2 bagpipe exhibition. 3 (b) DATE OF EXHIBITION.—The Exhibition shall be 4 held on May 14, 2023, or on such other date as the Speak- 5 er of the House of Representatives and the Committee on 6 Rules and Administration of the Senate jointly designate. 7 SEC. 3. TERMS AND CONDITIONS. 8 (a) IN GENERAL.—Under conditions to be prescribed 9 by the Architect of the Capitol and the Capitol Police 10 Board, the event shall be— 11 (1) free of admission charge and open to the 12 public; and 13 (2) arranged not to interfere with the needs of 14 Congress. 15 (b) EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES.—The sponsors of 16 the Memorial Service and Exhibition shall assume full re- 17 sponsibility for all expenses and liabilities incident to all 18 activities associated with the events. 19 SEC. 4.
