9/23/1974--Introduced. Public Documents Act - Defines "elected official of the United States" and "public documents" as used in this Act. Declares that, within 180 days after an elected official of the United States ceases to hold his office, the Administrator of General Services shall obtain any objects or materials of that elected official which the Administrator determines to be public documents and such elected official shall transmit such documents to the Administrator. Directs the Administrator of General Services to deposit in the National Archives of the United States the public documents of each elected official of the United States obtained under this Act.
