Be it eimcted hy the Senate and House of Representatives of the Staff allowances United States of A7nerica in Congress assenibled^ T h a t subsection (b) for former of the first section of the Act of August 25, 1958, entitled " A n Act to Presidents, provide retirement, clerical assistance, and free mailing privileges to limitation. former Presidents of the LTnited States, and for other purposes", as amended (3 U.S.C. 102 note) is amended by inserting after "$96,000 per a n n u m " the following: ", except t h a t for tlie first 30-month period during which a former President is entitled to staff assistance under this subsection, such rates of compensation in the aggregate shall not exceed $150,000 per annum". Effective date. SEC. 2. The amendment made by the first section of this Act shall take 3 u s e 102 note. effect October 1,1977. Approved October 18, 1977.
