                    amended (3 U.S.C. 102 note) is amended by inserting after "$96,000
                    per a n n u m " the following: ", except t h a t for tlie first 30-month period
                    during which a former President is entitled to staff assistance under
                    this subsection, such rates of compensation in the aggregate shall not
                    exceed $150,000 per annum".
Effective date.        SEC. 2. The amendment made by the first section of this Act shall take
3 u s e 102 note.   effect October 1,1977.
