7/17/1978--Introduced. Thomas A. Edison Centennial Educational Act - Establishes the Thomas A. Edison Centennial Commission within the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare to encourage and support the observance of the 100th anniversary of the invention of the first practical incandescent electric lamp and the other scientific contributions made by Thomas Edison. Authorizes the Commission to make grants for fiscal years 1979 through 1981 to a nonprofit institution of higher education to collect, compile, edit, and publish the papers of Thomas Edison. Terminates the Commission on Septermber 30, 1981. Authorizes appropriations for fiscal years 1979 through 1981 to carry out the provisions of this Act.
