He was previously the representative for Virginia’s 6th congressional district as a Republican from 1805 to 1807; the representative for Virginia’s 6th congressional district as a Republican from 1803 to 1805; the representative for Virginia’s 4th congressional district as a Republican from 1801 to 1803; the representative for Virginia’s 4th congressional district as a Republican from 1799 to 1801; and the representative for Virginia’s 4th congressional district as a Republican from 1797 to 1799.
