He was previously the representative for Kentucky’s 5th congressional district as a Republican from 1817 to 1819; the representative for Kentucky’s 1st congressional district as a Republican from 1811 to 1813; the representative for Virginia’s 11th congressional district as a Republican from 1803 to 1805; the representative for Virginia’s 16th congressional district as a Republican from 1801 to 1803; the representative for Virginia’s 16th congressional district as a Republican from 1799 to 1801; the representative for Virginia’s 16th congressional district as a Republican from 1795 to 1799; and the representative for Virginia’s 16th congressional district as a Republican from 1793 to 1795.
