Andresen was the representative for Minnesota’s 1st congressional district and was a Republican. He served from 1935 to 1958.

He was previously the representative for Minnesota’s 3rd congressional district as a Republican from 1931 to 1933; the representative for Minnesota’s 3rd congressional district as a Republican from 1927 to 1931; and the representative for Minnesota’s 3rd congressional district as a Republican from 1925 to 1927.
