Dodge was a senator from Iowa and was a Democrat. He served from 1848 to 1855.
He was previously the representative for Iowa’s at-large district as a Democrat from 1845 to 1846; the representative for Iowa’s at-large district as a Democrat from 1843 to 1845; and the representative for Iowa’s at-large district as a Democrat from 1840 to 1843.
