Eaton was the representative for New Jersey’s 5th congressional district and was a Republican. He served from 1933 to 1952.

He was previously the representative for New Jersey’s 4th congressional district as a Republican from 1931 to 1933; the representative for New Jersey’s 4th congressional district as a Republican from 1927 to 1931; and the representative for New Jersey’s 4th congressional district as a Republican from 1925 to 1927.
