Cary was the representative for Georgia and was a Jackson. He served from 1825 to 1827.

He was previously the representative for Georgia as (unknown party) from 1823 to 1825.

Legislators who enslaved Black people

Cary was among more than 1,800 legislators who enslaved Black people. The Washington Post compiled the first database of slaveholding members of Congress by examining thousands of pages of census records and historical documents. Cary was one of them.
