He was previously the representative for Virginia's 13th congressional district (1845-1847); the representative for Virginia's 13th congressional district (1843-1845); the representative for Virginia's 18th congressional district (1839-1843); the representative for Virginia's 18th congressional district (1837-1839); and the representative for Virginia's 18th congressional district (1835-1837; Jackson).
