Madison was President of the United States and was a Democratic-Republican. He served from 1809 to 1817.

He was previously the representative for Virginia’s 15th congressional district as a Republican from 1795 to 1797; the representative for Virginia’s 15th congressional district as a Republican from 1793 to 1795; the representative for Virginia’s 5th congressional district as a Republican from 1791 to 1793; and the representative for Virginia’s 5th congressional district as a Republican from 1789 to 1791.
