Priest was the representative for Tennessee’s 5th congressional district and was a Democrat. He served from 1953 to 1956.
He was previously the representative for Tennessee’s 6th congressional district as a Democrat from 1943 to 1952; and the representative for Tennessee’s 5th congressional district as an Ind. Democrat from 1941 to 1942.
