Galbraith was the representative for Pennsylvania’s 25th congressional district and was a Democrat. He served from 1839 to 1841.

He was previously the representative for Pennsylvania’s 25th congressional district as a Jackson from 1835 to 1837; and the representative for Pennsylvania’s 25th congressional district as a Jackson from 1833 to 1835.
