He was previously a senator from Texas as a Democrat from 1925 to 1931; a senator from Texas as a Democrat from 1913 to 1925; the representative for Texas’s 1st congressional district as a Democrat from 1907 to 1913; the representative for Texas’s 1st congressional district as a Democrat from 1905 to 1907; and the representative for Texas’s 1st congressional district as a Democrat from 1903 to 1905.
