Cannon was the representative for Tennessee’s 5th congressional district and was a Republican. He served from 1821 to 1823.
He was previously the representative for Tennessee’s 5th congressional district as a Republican from 1819 to 1821; the representative for Tennessee’s 5th congressional district as a Republican from 1815 to 1817; and the representative for Tennessee’s 5th congressional district as a Republican from 1813 to 1815.
