He was previously the representative for New York’s 18th congressional district as a Democrat from 1851 to 1853; the representative for New York’s 18th congressional district as a Free Soil from 1849 to 1851; the representative for New York’s 18th congressional district as a Democrat from 1845 to 1847; and the representative for New York’s 18th congressional district as a Democrat from 1843 to 1845.
