He was previously a senator from Arkansas as a Democrat from 1853 to 1855; the representative for Arkansas’s 1st congressional district as a Democrat from 1851 to 1853; the representative for Arkansas’s 1st congressional district as a Democrat from 1849 to 1851; and the representative for Arkansas’s 1st congressional district as a Democrat from 1847 to 1849.
