Houston was a senator from Texas and was an American. He served from 1853 to 1859.
He was previously a senator from Texas as a Democrat from 1847 to 1853; a senator from Texas as a Democrat from 1846 to 1847; the representative for Tennessee’s 7th congressional district as a Jackson from 1825 to 1827; and the representative for Tennessee’s 7th congressional district as a Democrat from 1823 to 1825.
