Wright, a Democrat, was a senator from New York from 1843 to 1845.

He was previously a senator from New York (1837-1843); a senator from New York (1833-1837; Jackson); the representative for New York (1831-1833; Jacksonian); and the representative for New York's 20th congressional district (1827-1829; Jackson).
