Former Senator for Delaware


Clayton was a senator from Delaware and was a Whig. He served from 1837 to 1847.

He was previously a senator from Delaware as an Adams from 1824 to 1827; and the representative for Delaware’s at-large district as a Federalist from 1815 to 1817.
