Claiborne was a senator from Louisiana and was a Democratic Republican. He served from 1817 to 1817.
He was previously the representative for Tennessee’s 1st congressional district as a Republican from 1799 to 1801; and the representative for Tennessee’s 1st congressional district as a Republican from 1797 to 1799.
