Cole was the representative for New York’s 37th congressional district and was a Republican. He served from 1953 to 1958.

He was previously the representative for New York’s 39th congressional district as a Republican from 1945 to 1952; and the representative for New York’s 37th congressional district as a Republican from 1935 to 1944.
