Goode was the representative for Virginia’s 4th congressional district and was a Democrat. He served from 1859 to 1861.

He was previously the representative for Virginia’s 4th congressional district as a Democrat from 1857 to 1859; the representative for Virginia’s 4th congressional district as a Democrat from 1855 to 1857; the representative for Virginia’s 4th congressional district as a Democrat from 1853 to 1855; and the representative for Virginia’s 4th congressional district as a Democrat from 1841 to 1843.
