Gordon was the representative for Virginia’s 12th congressional district and was a Jackson. He served from 1833 to 1835.

He was previously the representative for Virginia’s 10th congressional district as a Jackson from 1831 to 1833; and the representative for Virginia’s 10th congressional district as a Jackson from 1829 to 1831.
