Rep. William Stokes

Former Representative for Tennessee’s 3rd District

Stokes was the representative for Tennessee’s 3rd congressional district and was most recently a Republican (1867-1871) and previously an Unconditional Unionist (1865-1867). He served from 1865 to 1871.

He was previously the representative for Tennessee’s 4th congressional district as an Ind. Republican-Democrat from 1859 to 1861.
