TO SUSPEND THE RULES AND AGREE TO H. RES. 1439, THE RESOLUTION STATING THAT THE HOUSE CONCURS, WITH AMENDMENTS, IN THE SENATE AMENDMENTS TO H.R. 14279, THE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS REGULATORY AND INTEREST RATE CONTROL ACT OF 1978. THE BILL, AS MODIFIED, ESTABLISHES A FEDERAL FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS EXAMINATION COUNCIL, STRENGTHENS THE AUTHORITY OF FEDERAL AGENCIES WHICH REGULATE DEPOSITORY INSTITUTIONS, PROHIBITS INTERLOCKING MANAGEMENT AND DIRECTOR RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS, AND MAKES VARIOUS OTHER CHANGES IN FEDERAL BANKING LAWS.
