TO AMEND H.R. 5133, A BILL ESTABLISHING DOMESTIC CONTENT REQUIREMENTS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES SOLD IN THE UNITED STATES. THE DANNEMYER AMENDMENT DEFINES THE PURPOSES OF THE BILL AS THE FOLLOWING: TO REDUCE COMPETITION IN THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY, PROTECT JOBS IN ONE INDUSTRY TO THE DETRIMENT OF JOBS IN OTHER INDUSTRIES, AND TO INCREASE THE PRICE OF AUTOMOBILES TO CONSUMERS. (MOTION FAILED).
